On April 15th 2005 at the gallery YES of Poznan there's been the opening of the exhibition titled "Mezczyzna" - "Men". Mr and Mrs Michal and Magdalena Kwiatkiewicz and Mr. Krzysztof Madelski - owners of the YES gallery have invited Polish jewellery artists to submitt their works. Seventeen artists responded, and the exhibition was accompanied by well edited catalog.
The YES Gallery informs: "MEZCZYZNA" - "MEN"
This is the first show opening the planned seria of exhibitions on given subject initiated by our gallery. the works created on given subjects will present artistic associations of creator's minds with theme of each exhibition. We intend to propose words refering to the prime meanings in our minds. We leave to artists chose of form and material for their works - answers. The exhibition "Mezczyzna" - "Men" presents works by Polish designers of different generations, executed in various materials. Works presented are sometime the old, classic pieces of speccial importance to the author, sometime newest just finished creations.
Why this very first exhibition bears the title "Mezczyzna" - "Men" ? In our opinion the works presented are answering this question, althought sometime in quite disputable way.
The opening in the YES Gallery happen to be very nice social event. Both ladies: Magda Kwiatkiewicz and the gallery manager Bozena Gzella took care for proper presentation of works, for satisfaction of authors and audience and for providing medias with right materials, and they succeded in 100%.
This meeting served as natural occacsion for talkks on gallery, on art of goldsmithing, on cooperation with authors and with STFZ. There are already set dates for next exhibitions. There is planned the one men show by marcin Tyminski, by the Group 6, then the next presentation of the exhibition "PREZENTACJE 2004" and, 8in the future, "PREZENTACJE 2005", the Deconstruction - Recontruction exhibition organized by Legnica, and plkenty of other events. It is not excluded that the gallery will organize it's own goldsmithing competition.
All mentioned above are on the level of plans for a time being. We have been discussing these plans in charming place full of flowers, good wine and kind people. We'll keep informing on dates etc. details. We intend to write more soon, on this Gallery which exhibited till now on such authors as: Hanna and Jacek Zdanowscy, Wojtek Kochman and Michal Sekula, Jaroslaw Strobin, Aga Bruzda, Jacek Byczewski, Esther Knobel, Harold O`Connor and many others.
