On 17th and 18th May 2003 the Legnica Festival of Silver has opened in
Legnica Art Gallery.
The first meeting of jewellery artists occured in Legnica 24 years ago.
Current event made clear that the Marek's Nowaczyk idea of Legnica silver
exhibitions has developed very well. And in a year there will be round
anniversary - the 25th Legnica silver event.

SILVER FASCINATION - the exhibition in the Museum of Copper in Legnica.
Since 26th January 2002 till 28th of February 2002 in Polish Museum in
Chicago, USA, there's been presented works from collection of the Museum of
Copper in Legnica. The exhibition "Silver fascination" consisted of 180
pieces representing 70 years of Polish jewellery and goldsmithing art. This
exhibition has been prepared by Krystyna Nowakowska.
The catalog was edited by Museum of Copper in legnica and The Polish Museum
in USA with contribution of the Legnica Art gallery. The exhibition and the
catalog were created by Krystyna Nowakowska.
In 16th May the works presented in USA were shown during the Legnica
Festival of Silver. This exhibition will close in August 2003.

The conference opened by speach by professor Roman Kubicki on aethernal
actuality of art with regard to the art of goldsmithing.
Next speaker, Phd. Slawomir Fijalkowski, gave an objective picture of
present situation in Polish contemporary jewellery design.
Third speaker, Phd Beata Frydryczak spoke on shinning in jewellery.
After short brake there opened presentation of works by Esther Knobel and
Wilhelm Tasso Matar. Both artists are top jeweller designers known
worldwide.
Leszek Weiss presented his jewellery pieces including the "three
dimentional measuring gauge", which was awarded in Legnica in 1994.
The speach by Andrzej Boss will be published later.
The last speaker was jewellery artist Mariusz Pajaczkowski.
12th International goldsmithing Competition "The Circle"
At 6 p.m. the results of The Circle competition were oficcially announced
with presence of awarded artists and many guests, including representatives
of administration of the city and region.
There's been present many students and teachers from Lodz art schools,
people from Gdansk, Krakow and few persons from Warszawa.
