Short story on STFZ

Marek Nowaczyk has developed the idea of organising new, independent artistic association in Autumn 1990. The art of goldsmithing has been developing in Poland, the new, private galleries were exposing the artistic jewellery, the process of construction of basic of normality was on in the whole country - in politics, in economy, in art.

The initiative group has been meeting many times and the founding document was signed by 15 persons. On 13th February 1991 the Court of Law in Warszawa has oficcially registered the Goldsmithing Artists' Association. Before the first General Meeting the Association was run by Andrzej Bielak, Jacek Skrzynski and Giedymin Jablonski.

The first general Meeting occured on 27th April 1992. The STFZ consisted then of 47 members. The STFZ logo was designed by Barbara Kanska-Bielak.

In order to solve the problem of exchange and flow of information the info liflet has been edited, the INFO nr. 1 - no date - is named "Basic information on STFZ nr.1", the second edition of STFZ Information appeared on 20th July 1992. The 3rd up to 9th editions were named Inf 3 - inf 9, since nr. 10 the name INFO went into use up to now.

In the 13th year of STFZ existance without false modesty we have to state that Marek's Nowaczyk idea has opened new period in Polish goldsmithing after 1945.

Today, in the year 2003 the STFZ consists over 100 members, 15 supporting members, 5 members of honour and reccomends 14 galleries. We have established and we maintain wide net of contacts with goldsmithing circles all over the world. We have paid a considerable contribution for good of the Polish goldsmithing circles. The position and energy of STFZ is result of common effort of all STFZ members.
