■ Very many events that occurred in May and June 2005 and many informative materials on these events have caused the delay of edition of this issue of our bulletin. Finally we are ready, inviting you to view 1022 photos documenting the Spring and beginning of the Summer 2005 in world of Polish artistic goldsmithing; 757 pictures and their magnification show jewellery pieces. Beside main, dominating event which was the Legnica Festival of Silver, the works by Polish jewellery designers were presented in galleries in London and Berlin, in Museum of Applied Art in Belgrade, in National Museum in Poznan, PL, and at other exhibitions in Poland. Between most active authors we will find names of: Pawel Kaczynski and the artistic GRUPA SZESC (SIX GROUP), consisting of: mentioned Pawel Kaczynski, Bogumil Bytomski, Krzysztof Roszkiewicz, Marcin Tyminski and Arkadiusz Wolski.

■ Since May 11th until June 9th 2005 the presentation of works by seventeen Polish jewellery artists has been presented in the flow gallery in London. This exhibition was the result of visit to the BIELAK GALLERY in Krakow of Mrs. Iwona Demczynska, the owner of the flow gallery. The quality of our works has prompted Mrs. Demczynska to issue an invitation via Andrzej Bielak to organize this exhibition. In July and August 2005 the BIELAK GALLERY, on terms of mutual benefit, has been presenting the exhibition of British jewellery artists cooperating with the flow gallery.

Authors of works presented in London belong to different generations; they represent different approaches to the matter of creative goldsmithing, they employ and use different techniques, technologies and different means of artistic expression. What they have in common is the strong need of presenting their achievements to the public. All of them are active for years, participating in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, having their works published in catalogs and magazines devoted to artistic goldsmithing. We may find their names on lists of prizewinners of jewellery competitions.

This great event traditionally consists of several well-prepared exhibitions, to be enjoyed this year since April 29th until June 5th 2005. The contact net JMG - Jewellery Galleries Exchange

The co organizer of the STFZ and its long time president, Andrzej Bielak, runs in his town of Krakow the BIELAK GALLERY. This gallery conducts very intensive exhibiting activity, organizing at least six jewellery exhibitions every year - one man and group presentation as well. Exhibiting artists were: Lars Tornvaldsson, Wilhelm Tasso Matar, Ester Knobel, Mila Kalnitskaja and Micha Maslennikov, Emilia Gorna and Norbert Wawrzyniak, Krzysztof Piotrowski, Grupa Szesc- Group Six, Jacek Maria Hohensee, Marcin Tyminski, Tomasz Jagiello, Agnieszka Bruzda, Jacek Byczewski. There were also presented numerous repetitions of big events like Legnica's revues or Warsaw's "PREZENTACJE" (Presentations).

The concept of the travelling exhibition: "Artists from Sweden" - "Swedish Jewellery", originally conceived and organized by Mona Wallstrom and Marie-Jose van den Hout, which exhibition has been traveling around galleries of Holland, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Italy and USA has inspired Andrzej Bielak to create an international platform of information exchange on organized exhibitions between galleries presenting pieces of artistic goldsmithing.

Today the list of JMG galleries consists of more then 20 addresses. This way the info on interesting exhibition titled "Brooches" organized by the VELVET DA VINCI gallery of San Francisco, USA, has became accessible to many international viewers. Images of works presented are here: http://www.velvetdavinci.com/show.php?sid=46. We have noticed there works by French jewellery artist, Monika Brugger, whom we remember from AOE conference in Strasbourg in 1997.

From the past

■ The exhibition CAMELOT 1115 has opened in Krakow on June 14th 1997. The development of the CAMELOT exhibitions and competitions has transformed them to the level of international events. This is to be seen at the list of jury members as well as at the list of artists presenting their works. The members of jury of CAMELOT 1115 were: Anton Cepka (jewellery artist of an international reputation), prof. Irena Huml (historian of art), Wojciech Starzecki (the Ofir gallery), prof. Andrzej Szadkowski (Panstwowa Wyzsza Szkoła Sztuk Plastycznych im. Wladysława Strzeminskiego w Lodzi - the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz), dr. Christianne Weber Stober (historian of art, Secretary General of Gesselschaft fur Goldschmiedekunst), Joanna Jaworska (jewellery artist, first price winner at CAMELOT 1114).

The exhibition presented works by 29 artists coming from 6 countries. The first prize winner became Tomasz Troszczynski, other awards have distinguished works by: Jacek Byczewski, Inge Reiner, Petra Blaich-Weiss, and the speccial price - one man exhibition at the Muzeum Sztuki Zlotniczej - the Museum of Art of Goldsmithing in Kazimierz Dolny, went to Jan Suchodolski.

Works presented at the exhibition are described and analyzed in foreword to catalog by Katarzyna Rzehak. Her text, titled "Sposoby na koniec wieku" translating as "Means & manners on the end of the century" presents an interesting description and analyze of Polish art of goldsmithing at the end of XXth century.

The exhibitions of the CAMELOT cycle were the first exhibitions of artistic goldsmithing in Poland after changes of 1989, which have created the homogeneous, modern series of competitions and exhibitions organized by private organizers and companies. We should say that the CAMELOT exhibitions were the first Polish events of this kind reflecting the new reality as result of changes of 1989.

■ Creativity of Jadwiga and Jerzy Zaremski - pioneers of Polish artistic goldsmithing has been elaborated and described in many publications, including the book by Agnieszka Kasprzak Miler "Srebra Jadwigi i Jerzego Zaremskich" - "Silver of Jadwiga and Jerzy Zaremski". In our archives survived a short TV movie report, shoot years ago in the studio of artists. We shall be returning to creation and achievements of Jadwiga and Jerzy Zaremski in our column. Let us begin with information on the exhibition, which until today remains the last Jadwiga and Jerzy Zaremski's retrospective exhibition is opening this topic.

In March 1986 the Biuro Wystaw Artystycznych w Legnicy - Office for Artistic Exhibitions gallery in Legnica has organized the exhibition titled "Jadwiga Jerzy Zaremscy" - "Jadwiga Jerzy Zaremski". This exhibition was presented later in similar galleries in following Polish towns: Nowy Sacz (April 1986), Szczecin (June 1986), Slupsk (July 1986). The catalog, beside it's poor print quality, characteristic for, as we call it, former reality in Poland, serves as a priceless source for historians of art, because, beside photos of works, there is published long list with dates and descriptions of more important exhibitions and publications on Jadwiga and Jerzy Zaremski's creativity.

Unfortunately this Zaremski's exhibition in Legnica was not a joyfull event. During process of preparations to this presentation Jerzy Zaremski suddenly passed away. Proper texts by Irena Huml and Michal Gradowski are published in catalog.
